STEP 1: You apply online

You apply online through our website. You can apply at any time. All our courses have had the charges reduced to a €50 registration charge which you will need to pay to accept your offer. This charge covers your full course costs for the year.

When you complete your application, you will receive an acknowledgement email with login details, username and password, for your new account on our college applications system, MIT. You will log into the college applications system regularly to manage your application to ICFE. If you have any problems logging in please contact our Admissions office at info@inchicore.cdetb.ie

Can’t decide which course? Our system only allows you to apply once, but you can change your mind any time. If you are interested in applying for more than one course, please contact our admissions office at the email address above and they will advise you on what to do.

STEP 2: **We offer you a provisional place* on the course**

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Information on entry requirements for each course is available in the courses section of our website.

In general, minimum entry requirements for PLC courses are:

For QQI Level 5 – Leaving Cert standard or equivalent certification
For QQI Level 6 courses – Full QQI level 5 certificate or equivalent certification

In addition to the above, the course you are applying for may have specific entry requirements e.g. to pass an audition, a portfolio review or similar as part of the application process.

Applicants to courses that have specific entry requirements will be contacted directly about how to fulfil the additional requirements.

Places are offered on a first come, first served basis. This offer is also subject to places being available and the course forming.

STEP 3: You accept the offer of a provisional place and pay a €50 registration charge to secure your place.

You can accept the offer of a provisional place and secure that place by paying the €50 non-refundable registration charge online.
To pay your registration charge online, please click on the login button below. This will take you to the login page of the college applications system. Your login details are on the acknowledgement email we sent you. After log in, select the Payments tab to pay your registration charge.

Applicants in receipt of certain social welfare payments may have this registration waived in certain circumstances, eligibility will be established at the beginning of September.

STEP 4: Complete your registration

To complete registration for your course, please Login to your account, select the DOCUMENTS tab and upload a copy of some or all of the following documents:

Photo ID (E.G. Passport, PSC card, Driver’s Licence, National Age Card, GNIB card) to confirm your identity.
For school leavers, a copy of your Leaving Certificate Exam Results when you receive them.
If you hold a medical card, please upload a photo of this.
For all other applicants a Statement of Results from your most recent academic course.
Non-EU applicants, upload GNIB card (Stamp 4) or a Blue TRC card and Labour Market Permission letter if issued.

It is important that you commence the registration process for your course as soon as possible. You can upload any documents as soon as you have them.

LEARNER DETAILS FORM

This is a requirement from the Dept. of Further & Higher Education. All students must fill in a Learner Detail form. You will see this form when you log in to your application account from August 2024. Please fill this form in prior to Induction. This form will be available on your application account in August, please click on it and fill it in.

Uploading photograph for your ICFE student card

Please go to the UPLOAD PHOTOGRAPH icon that appears when you log in to your account. Please do not upload your student card photo as a document. Your photo should be recently taken and of a suitable passport-style. The photograph you upload will be printed directly from your application account to your student card. It is your responsibility to ensure it is suitable for your student card.

STEP 5: Induction

Course Inductions will take place the week of 9th September 2024. Induction sessions usually take approximately two hours. We will notify you about the exact date, time and location of your induction via text and email. You must bring the following to your Induction session:

Photo ID
Your most recent academic results e.g. Leaving Cert., QQI etc.

At ICFE we are committed to you having a successful transition into this college and your induction is the first important step.

At your induction, you will meet your course coordinator, other college staff and your fellow students. You will receive lots of useful information (including your timetable) about your course and the college.

STEP 6: Start classes

Your exact start date will be confirmed by your Course Coordinator at induction. Courses are provisionally scheduled to start the week of the 16th September.

All dates and times will be confirmed via text and email.
