Have you ever wanted to work with people, help employees reach their best potential and learn all the skills needed to work in human resources and dynamic business environments? Would you like to gain the knowledge and experience needed for interviewing, recruiting and selecting staff?
This course has been specifically de-signed to help you develop your skills and knowledge of human resources and business management, in areas such as recruitment and selection, employment legislation, training and development, payroll, managing people and motivating teams. This course is perfect for anyone who wishes to work with and manage people in any aspect of industry and business.
You will attend college four days each week and you will complete one day per week in work placement where you can use all the knowledge you learn in college while also gaining valuable, practical and supported experience in a HR role. There is also a two-week block placement.
Students have the opportunity to travel to another European country for three weeks’ work experience. This is a fully funded international work experience opportunity funded by the European Union through Léargas, The Exchange Bureau and Erasmus+. View our European Work Experience page here.

The largest asset of any organisation is its employees and every manager knows how important it is to hire, train and motivate staff. These are some of the important areas that HR is responsible for.
HR also advises senior managers on legislation and employee strategies that will help the business succeed. HR plays a vital role in all organisations, large, medium or small. It is a fantastic area to work in with excellent career prospects now and in the future.

Applicant Information Meeting
All applicants will be invited to an Applicant Information Meeting.
This course leads to an excellent and well recognised QQI Level 5 qualification which provides sought after skills to gain employment in business. Upon completion you will have the skills and experience to work in a HR Department as well as the skills to work as a team leader, supervisory or managerial role.
Higher Education Links Scheme
Upon successful completion, this course will also enable you to progress to third level universities to study a wide range of Diplomas and Degrees in areas such as Human Resources, Business, Management or Psychology.
