Night School Terms and Conditions

  • All enrolment is online at www.inchicorecollege.ie/nightschool only.
  • The night school reserves the right to amend or cancel any course, or change tutor, without notice.
  • Inchicore College of Further Education, and its night school, are inclusive learning environments and we welcome all students. Please ask for help or advice, in confidence, at any time from the night school director or course tutor.
  • All night school participants should be over 18 years of age.
  • Places are given on a first-come, first-served basis. Note that spaces are limited in all classes to ensure a safe working environment for all. Please book early to avoid disappointment.
  • The night school adheres to all current Government guidelines concerning Covid-19 protocols. If restrictions are implemented that prevent classes occurring in person, then pro rata fees will be refunded or term dates will be altered or shortened or fees, if requested by the student, can be carried over to the next term.
  • On the booking form, the classes that can transfer to online learning in the event of restrictions occurring will be noted.  In this case, fees will not be refunded as notice will have been given at the point of sale that online learning can occur in the event of Covid restrictions being implemented. Please note that to engage online you are advised to have a good WIFI connection, a computer that runs on Windows 7 or later, a webcam, inbuilt microphone/speakers, or external microphone and speakers.
  • Every effort is made to keep the prices of all night classes as low as possible to facilitate access for all members of the community. However, night classes need to be self-financing and this means that a minimum number of students are required for classes to form. These numbers depend upon the room capacity and subject matter. Refunds are issued when classes fail to form due to lack of numbers. You will be notified, by email, if a class fails to form and refunds will be issued promptly by credit/debit card only. Some courses may be subject to additional VAT charges.
  • The only other ground considered for requests for refunds is on the grounds of certified illness. Supporting documentation will have to be provided, and approved by college management, and an administrative handling fee of 5% will apply.
  • Note that fees are specific to tuition only. If there are materials or examination fees required for your course, this will be highlighted on the course information page to ensure that you are fully informed of all costs before registering and paying for a course. All materials fees must be paid for online before the course commences.
  • A reduction of 10% in fees will apply to those in receipt of social protection payments, full-time students, and those over the age of 66. Proof of entitlement to reduction is required and must be uploaded when applying for a course. You will be notified, by email, when your documents have been checked and approved. You will then be able to log back into your account and pay for your course with the discounted rate applied.
  • All participation in classes is at the student’s risk and Inchicore College of Further Education and the night school accept no liability for damage or injury to persons or property.
  • Night school students and staff are bound by the policies and practices of Inchicore College of Further Education and CDETB. All policies are available to view, upon request.
  • Specific to our Covid-19 policy, all students are expected not to attend if they are experiencing any symptoms of the virus. Masks are to be worn in the building and for all classes. Disinfectant wipes will be provided for all students to wipe down their workspaces when finished and the tutor will go through health and safety protocols on the first class of term.
  • The night school at Inchicore College of Further Education is under the auspices of the City of Dublin Education and Training Board. We are bound by a range of policies that have been created to support an inclusive and safe learning environment for staff and students. All staff and students are bound by these policies. These documented policies, are available for viewing upon request, and they include, but are not limited to:
