The skill set required to be a Personal Trainer requires knowledge of all aspects of fitness including: advanced fitness testing, specialist programme design, sports nutrition application and delivering personal training sessions effectively.
According to leading industry employers, Personal Trainers entering the field require knowledge of customer service and sales which are also offered on this course, and which will positively impact your earning potential.
Extensive industry practice coupled with the work experience module will give the student the confidence to enter the work force on completion of the course. By providing add-ons in Studio Cycling Instruction, Suspension Training Instruction and Kettlebell Instruction you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel your career forward.

GAA Level 1 Coaching Certificate
Minimum Entry Requirements
QQI Level 5 Award in a related discipline with a Merit profile
ITEC Fitness Instructor Award (Gym Based) is required for entry to ITEC Personal Trainer Award
Equivalent qualifications will be considered.
Mature applicants who have relevant industry experience and may not meet the above requirements are welcome to apply.
Applicant Information Meeting
All applicants will be invited to an Applicant Information Meeting.
On successful completion of this course, students can seek employment in the fitness industry as Personal Trainers, Specialist Class Instructors, with the National Governing Bodies or in the area of Sports Development.
Students may also avail of the Higher Education Links Scheme to access courses in many Institutes of Technology. Our Career Guidance department will guide you through the steps involved.
