Notes: Please bring pen and paper if you wish to jot down notes. All courses are subject to a minimum number in order to proceed. In the event that a course is oversubscribed, places will be offered on a first-booked, first-served basis and a waiting list will then be created. You will be contacted in this event.
Description
This eight-week course will build upon all the basics from our beginners course. You will continue to develop and practice your understanding of grammar which is a key to building sentences confidently. There will be lots of practice with each other and your tutor so that you develop strong language muscles.
- Week 1: getting to know people, giving information about people, talking about work, saying why you are learning Italian, the past participle.
- Week 2: talking about daily routine and the working day, using the 12-hour and the 24-hour clock, the imperative.
- Week 3: getting advices, talking about leisure interests, planning an activity, the future tense.
- Week 4: reading property descriptions, enquiring about renting a house, showing someone round a house.
- Week 5: shopping for clothes, shoes and bags, expressing your opinion, making comparisons.
- Week 6: asking the way and following directions, reporting a problem and explain what happened, the perfect tense.
- Week 7: talking about holiday plans, about the weather, talking about previous holidays, the imperfect tense.
- Week 8: the health, saying how are you feeling and describing symptoms, following medical instruction, the plus perfect tense.

Students will be provided with notes but can, if they wish, purchase “TALK ITALIAN 2 – THE IDEAL COURSE FOR IMPROVING YOUR ITALIAN – Alwena Lampig” . Available on Amazon or in bookstores. You won’t need the recording with the CD as the tutor will provide recordings.
About your tutor: Paola Rizza
Paola is Italian born and bred but has moved to Ireland because of her love of this country. She is multi-lingual and is also a Spanish and Portuguese Freelance Translator. She has a Diploma de Portguês Lengua Estrangeira and the Diploma de Español Lengua Extranjera. She has a passion for languages and loves to share this with others. Paola has a very gentle quality that will encourage you to practice your Italian with confidence in class.
