Disability & Healthcare Support Worker – Level 5

In Ireland today, there is an increasing demand for qualified staff to work in the healthcare and disability sectors. Our highly-regarded Disability/Healthcare Support Worker course is unique, offering you a choice of specialising in either disability or healthcare. It will prepare you for work under supervision in settings such as centres for people with disabilities, hospitals, nursing homes and day care centres.

Work experience throughout the year affords you the opportunity to apply theory to practice when working with clients. Graduates from this course have been very successful in obtaining employment and progressing to higher education.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate: O6/H7 in 5 subjects.
Leaving Certificate Applied.
QQI Level 4.
Equivalent qualifications will be accepted
Mature applicants who have relevant industry experience and may not meet the above requirements are welcome to apply.
All applicants will be interviewed.
Successful graduates may gain entry to Level 6 Healthcare Supervisory Management in Inchicore College or any relevant QQI Level 6 or BTEC Higher National Diploma courses. Graduates may also use their Level 5 award to apply for relevant degree courses in health and social care.
Graduates from this course may gain employment in the disability and healthcare sector in a variety of settings such as hospitals, residential care, day centres, respite care and private home care.
