Description

Our ten-week course will help writers to develop their creative writing skills to the next level. This class is a natural follow-on from the beginners’ creative writing course. Students will continue to do some tailored writing exercises during class, but the main focus will be on work in progress. The students, with the guidance of the facilitator, will read weekly submissions and discuss and give feedback on each other’s work. This class is ideal if you are working on your own poetry, short stories, flash fiction or your first novel and you want an audience for your work. In this class you will figure what is working and what needs to be tweaked. Community for budding writers is important and these ten weeks will give you the support and confidence to dig deeper into your practice as a writer.

About your tutor: Amy Q. Redmond, B.A. (Hons.) English and Spanish, M.A. Journalism, Certificate in therapeutic use of mindfulness

Amy Q. Redmond

Amy has an inclusive and student centred approach to teaching. She loves the written word, in all its guises, and she supports and empowers her students to express their voice through the medium of writing. She focuses on the process of writing in a strategic manner. This gives students the space to feel safe to commit their words to the page and share this with others. Amy has lots of experience with the craft of writing and has worked as an editor, a travel writer, a book and theatre reviewer, and has continued her professional development by developing her script writing skills. We know that you will feel confident to express yourself and will learn so much from Amy over the ten weeks of your writing course.
