About The Course

2 Year Craft Design and Making Course

Our highly experienced art and design team consists of specialists in drawing, material culture, creative writing, computer aided design, costume design, jewellery design, printmaking, photography, sculpture, furniture making and carpentry. The focus of this course is to assist you to develop your skills as a creative practitioner and it will allow you to use the infrastructure of this college to pursue the development of your skills and generate employment and a market for your art and crafts

The Back to Education Initiative (BTEI)

The Back to Education Initiative (BTEI) provides part-time further education courses for young people and adults. Those in receipt of unemployment payments or means-tested social welfare benefits, holders of medical cards and their dependants are entitled to free tuition. Others will be required to pay the appropriate college fees.

Entry Requirements

All enquiries are welcome and mature students and/or those who have left school early are invited to apply. No formal educational requirements are required.



With the skills, experience and knowledge of the course team, you will be encouraged to bring your innovation and entrepreneurship to the marketplace using traditional and online selling.

Learners can progress to further education courses at Level 6 and Higher Education Courses at Level 6, 7 and 8 including NCAD, IADT, TUD and many other specialist creative courses throughout the country.
