Monday: Computer coding revision in Java, C++, and Python for college students.
Time: 6.30-8.30pm
Start: 08.01.24
Duration: 8 weeks (no class on the 13.02.24).

Notes: Please bring personal tablet/laptop, otherwise, there will be desktop computers available for your use. All courses are subject to a minimum number in order to proceed. In the event that a course is oversubscribed, places will be offered on a first-booked, first-served basis and a waiting list will then be created. You will be contacted in this event.

Description

Computer coding is the way forward and understanding what happens behind the screen is vital in this digital era. The topics below will be covered using Java, Python, and C ++. Mark will spend the first hour of each class going through the coding notes and then the second hour will be spent putting the theory into practice.

  • Week 3 — Arrays
  • Week 4 — Reading From / Writing To Text and CSV Files
  • Week 5 — Functions and Methods
  • Week 6 — Object Orientation
  • Week 7 — Object Orientation
  • Week 8 — Graphical User Interface

About your tutor: Mark McGrane M. Sc. (Hons.) Data Analytics

Mark has worked in the computer industry for over fifteen years. He has a broad range of skill sets that include software testing, data analysis, market message networking, and salesforce administration development. He is steeped in knowledge about computer programming in Java, C++, Visual basic, and Python and database development such as Oracle SQL and PLSQL. Of course, he is also expert with the Microsoft suite of Office packages – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, and Visio. He enjoys doing system analysis and design project work. Mark has a student-centred approach to teaching and believes that people need a calm approach to learn successfully. Mark loves seeing people succeed and always goes the extra mile to ensure that his students are grounded in basic theory and can put this into action.
