About The Course

This new and exciting course combines traditional core business subjects with online tools and capabilities to teach students how they can maximise business opportunities. Having liaised with industry, the course director has developed this course to recognise the changing business environment. The course offers up-to-date training on relevant business and digital marketing modules.

You will engage in a range of learning experiences including business and digital marketing case studies, group work and industry project work through which students build their confidence and fulfil their potential.

Students attend college four days each week and are required to complete one day per week in a work placement in a business environment in order to gain relevant, valuable and supported experience. There is also a two-week block placement.

Students have the opportunity to travel to another European country for three weeks’ work experience. This is a fully funded international work experience opportunity funded by the European Union through Léargas, The Exchange Bureau and Erasmus+. View our European Work Experience page here.

Irish people love their phones and are doing more business and more shopping online than ever before. The opportunities for people with skills in this area are ever increasing.

Leaving Certificate: O6/H7 in 5 subjects
Leaving Certificate Applied
QQI Level 4
Equivalent qualifications will be accepted

Mature Applicants

Mature applicants who have relevant industry experience and may not meet the above requirements are welcome to apply.

Interview

All applicants will be interviewed.

Progression and Career Prospects

On completion of the QQI Level 5, students with a merit profile can progress on to the two year full-time BTEC Higher National Diploma in Business in Inchicore College of Further Education or on to the Level 6 Web Applications Development in Inchicore College.

This integrated course equips students to pursue career opportunities within a business environment and/or progress to Higher Education in both business and marketing disciplines.

Graduates of this course have been successful in gaining employment in Business and Marketing Industries such as Insurance, Banking, Sales, Marketing, Telesales, Credit Control.
